VEREMEDY RECEIVES PERMISSION TO EXPAND ITS HOSPITAL (9/15/09)
VEREMEDY RECEIVES PERMISSION TO EXPAND ITS HOSPITAL We have known for quite some time that our current building could not accommodate the growth that we are experiencing at our White River Junction location, states Dr. Brad Burrington of the Veremedy Pet Hospital. We are very pleased that the town of Hartford has once again given us the go ahead to expand our building, Burrington added. Veremedy has had plans to expand the foot print of its building for several years. The original plan was to expand last year, but with the economy faltering and the stock market plummeting, the company decided to wait to see how the veterinary market would fare. Fortunately, the demand for veterinary services at the two Veremedy Pet Hospitals has remained strong. Sure, some pet owners have been forced to cut back on pet health care spending, but perhaps that is why Veremedy Pet Hospitals see so many new clients each month. We have a reputation for helping pet owners spend their pet health care resources intelligently, states Dr. Angela Burrington, Director of Medicine at Veremedy. In the ideal world every pet owner would have the finances to pay for all the diagnostic tests we need to identify a pets illness. Then there would always be adequate dollars left over to implement our state-of-the-art treatment and surgical plans. Certainly, that is what happens regularly at Veremedy Pet Hospitals, but occasionally, and especially during tough economic times, pet owners need to choose targeted diagnostic plans and scaled down treatment strategies to maximize the benefits of every pet care dollar they have. So, with demand still strong for services, the plan to launch a building project started to come together this summer. That plan involves utilizing the building and remodeling expertise of many local contractors. The plan involves a large 3200 square foot expansion to the building, and requires that the existing building continue to function as a veterinary hospital. It is anticipated that the building will have to close for a few days while large trucks and cranes work on the site. For those few days, the plan is to route any critical, must-be-seen cases to our Woodstock office. With any luck, we will stimulate the local economy with some construction jobs, expand the capacity to practice medicine in our central Upper Valley location, and preserve the capacity of our old building to function during this process. It will be a team effort, and we are looking forward to the task, and the finished product. A blog to follow the progress of the project will be set up at www.veremedy.com. # # # If you would like more information on this topic, please contact Dr. Brad Burrington at 802-457-1739, or email him at brad@veremedy.com. |
